Year of the Dragon is coming up soon. Everyone around me seem to plan on having a dragon baby. You see pregnant ladies all over the place – but not a lot of stylish ones. Being pregnant does not mean giving up all sense of personal style. Don’t let your little bump drive you to sneakers and plus-size velour tracksuits. You need to feel emotionally fulfilled and confident. Here is a few tips on dressing your bump in style:
1) The little black dress
This is a piece of must have through out your pregnancy. A classic little black dress can flaunt your gorgeous pregnant body. You can wear it for work, a sexy night out with your husband or even to a party. Choose a little black dress in a stretchy knit fabric that can grow with your bump.
2) The Basics
Long Lycra tank tops and tees are essential during pregnancy. You can wear them alone, under open jackets and cardigans, or layer them under shorter tops for more coverage. Wearing something tight and fitted on underneath your shirt will make you feel more supported and comfortable as your bump gets bigger.
3) Accessories
You may have a lot of limitation as to what you can wear through out your pregnancy, but accessories (except for rings) are something that will always fit. Don’t under estimate the effect of accessories will have on your outfit. It is one of the easiest way to make a basic outfit pop.
4) Show a little leg
Leggings and skinny jeans are another essentials during your pregnancy. They offer both comfort and style. A flattering pair of maternity jeans can be dressed up or dressed down to go almost anywhere.
5) Don’t be shy to show your bump
A lot of you may think wearing something oversize may hide your size, but this will only contribute to a bulkier look and undermine your self-confidence. Don’t be afraid to wear tight fitting clothes to show off your new voluptuousness and radiant pregnant glow.
6) Cleavage time
Pregnancy offers the best chance you’ll ever have to flaunt cleavage (without going through plastic surgery or using a wonderbra), so take advantage of this fortuitous occasion and wear scoop-neck T-shirts or sweaters.
7) Comfy stylish flats
During pregnancy, the feet can become swollen. As your bump gets bigger, it will become easier to loose your balance. Skip the high heels and stilettos, and opt for some trendy flats.
