Peplum is one of the hottest trends for the spring but there’s a myth out there that this style is only for slim and trim figures. This is not true! A peplum won’t make you look thin, but there are a few tricks which can help you pull this trend off regardless of what size you are.
On the catwalk, one popular way for a peplum to be styled was with an above-the-knee skirt, and ankle boots. All very well, so long as you have the catwalk-standard minimum inside leg, of 36in. The average is around 30in, and those 6in make all the difference.
If wearing a peplum, the kindest point for your skirt to end is at the knee, or just below, where your leg shape narrows. (The classic Dior peplum, of 1947, was at its most elegant when worn with a pencil skirt in this length.)
Even better, wear your peplum with trousers. This is more flattering on short legs, and – even more importantly – immediately modernises a look
Black on black is the safest way you can possibly go. Opt for a slim pant to further emphasize the flouncey peplum.
Add a sturdy heel to complement the skirt’s bold shape.
peplum refers to a piece with a ruffle around the waist, which adds volume while creating a flattering hourglass shape. Tops, skirts, dresses and jackets have undergone a peplum makeover this season
peplum is so voluminous, always pair it with sleek and streamlined pieces — like skinny jeans and wedge sandals — to keep the outfit from looking too over-the-top.

Bag Trend #3: Printed bags. We are normally rather practical and choose bags which are more or less versatile. But designers advise us to be bolder during Spring/ Summer 2012 fashion season and invest into bags which are not ordinary, those which feature interesting patterns.
Hothouse florals and tropical patterns are everywhere, from the red carpet to the runway, and we’ve got the look for a lot less…
