Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last updated the blog, and a lot has changed over the past few months. BabyM is no longer a baby anymore. She is now a little lady who’s set to become a big sister! As for me, my waist line has grown at least 15 inches and soon I will be mother of two! The beginning of the pregnancy was a little tougher than I had expected, so I decided to take a short break from blogging. Hope you didn’t miss BabyM and I too much! This is by no means a fashion post, I just wanted to use this opportunity to share my feelings and experiences over the past eight months. Going forward, I will also be sharing more motherhood experience with you!
There has always been a preference for sons over daughters among Asian families, due to a variety of reasons ranging from practical to cultural. Although my husband is the only son in his family, I’m very blessed that I didn’t receive any sort of pressure from my in-laws to have a boy. I feel extremely fortunate to have BabyM in my life, as the joy she has brought me and the family is immeasurable. Although I’m a working mom who at the same time is invloved in two side projects (StyleInk and Sweet Creations), I always try to find time for my daughter, and thus we have a very close relationship.
I have to confess that I was a bit jealous when as a baby, BabyM preferred the nanny over me, given that she was her main caregiver, but over time managed to win back BabyM’s heart. So to all the working parents out there, don’t fret if you find that your little one seems to enjoy the company of the nanny over you at times. As long as you put in the time, effort, and patience, they will eventually come around. They will always remember who their parents are, you will be the first person they come to.
Special thanks to NT Photography for capturing these special moments for us!
