Do both blue tops look familiar? We are restyling them from the previous Biker Kids post here. While the outfits in the Biker Kids conveyed a more rebellious vibe, this particular look is the complete opposite. Don’t they both look so innocent? This shoot actually reminds me of a very popular Taiwanese movie, 那些年 (You Are The Apple of My Eye) – a movie about high school puppy love . Wouldn’t it be very funny if BabyJ and BabyM really became lovers? I am using the movie name as the title of this post but I’m not sure how many of you can actually read Chinese. This got me thinking, should I include a Chinese version in each post (though my Chinese writing is not very good)? Please let me know, I would love to know what you think.
Speaking of schools, we took BabyM for a pre-nursery interview this week, and I can tell you it was more stressful than a job interview. Some of the parents were very aggressive and I have to admit I was a bit caught off guard. It was a group interview with three other families that lasted 20 minutes, so that’s about 5 minutes per family. How much can you really learn about someone in that short amount of time? It’s a make or break moment, where you’re lucky if your little one is having a good day and performs well, or potentially disastrous if they are not in a good mood. The interview really got me thinking – is the Hong Kong school system suitable for BabyM? I don’t consider myself a tiger mom but I did feel immense pressure for her to do well at the interview due to the competitive environment. BabyM is of course too young to fully comprehend the situation, but she will as she gets older. There’s no doubt that I want her to do well but at the same time I want her to enjoy her childhood years, and not lose her innocence. Do you share the same view as me?
